The new Android Sony Walkman!

Sony is reinventing the walkman and it's going to be bigger and better than the ipod touch and cheaper because it has LINUX inside. One thing no one can deny is that Google linux ANDROID will add a familiar interface to gadgets not windows but better it could pass for iphone or ipod touch. Maybe you think Ubuntu, XandrOS, or Splashtop is good (they're all awesome) but gadgets with android are selling like hotcakes. The thing is most people don't even know they're using linux. Just like the tomtom, garmin nuvi, tmobile G1 are so popular and 99% of the customers don't know or care what software it has as long as it works for what it was purchased for. Linux is coming to all your devices in the form of ANDROID!

USB 3.0 and Linux FTW!

Who's first to USB 3.0, It's GNU/Linux FTW! Thanks Intel for pushing the Linux USB 3.0 drivers out before windblows, looks like Linux is going to burn some rubber with OEM's because you know windblows 7 won't have stable usb 3.0 drivers for another year or 2! So now Linux is not only the most secure and stable OS it's also the quickest at releasing new drivers. Linux netbooks have support for wimax and windows don't. LINUX is the OS for the 21st century!

Google Android netbooks are coming soon.

It's all over the net! That is netbooks are all about the net and Google Android will take netbooks to the next level. I know a lot of people that wouldn't buy a netbook with linux in it but they would if it had Google Android. Goodbye-microsoft hello Android Linux.

Microsoft loves firefox extensions!

I just read another blog about how Microsoft is once again pulling a very bad trick on anyone who uses firefox on windows. In the latest microsoft updates there is an extension slipped into firefox... here's the article

In other microsuck news Windows 7 will require you to use microsoft hardware > they're playing Russian roulette with this one... read the rest

Asus is bowing down the evil empire microsoft by denouncing google android but Acer still has linux plans for both moblin and google android... read full article

LInux users concentrated in northeast.

My blog readers seem to come from the northeast? I thought more of the west would be interested in linux since it's known for technology. I guess everyone in the west already knows about linux and it's just now hitting the east coast? Here's a few maps:

Oh and of course most use linux.

Re: MSFT store doesn't have any door, only windows

Microsoft is just being true to the windows brand, all the windows are surrounded by GATES. That will make people feel right at home because all those windows lovers like to feel locked in. The only problem is tons of virus and malware crap can get through those GATES and your windows then your charged by gates to upgrade your windows. I LOVE OPEN SOURCE and GNU/LINUX! No gates, virus, malware, pop ups, and best the true feeling of freedom.

I just posted this on MSFT board in response to microsoft opening retail stores. I liked it so much I thought I'd repost here.

Ubuntu 9.04 beta boots in 18.94 seconds on old hardware.

I have a system that is about 3 years old and the HDD was pulled from older system pata 120 gig. I'm still getting a real fast boot with this on ext4 partition. I can't wait to upgrade and get it under 10 seconds. Click here for original png

Ubuntu Jaunty has 26,723 packages in default repository.

I was on a message board and I noticed how many people still think there's no software for linux. So here is a screen shot of available packages in the current UBUNTU JAUNTY repository available for download with 2 clicks (mark and apply) with a short screencast if you want to see more.

UBUNTU netbook remix

I installed Ubuntu netbook remix on my wife's laptop(DELL 1420n) today and she hates it! Ginger(my wife) hates it but I love it, she uses ubuntu 8.10 with no modifications and she loves it. I was wondering if this is a woman thing or just that users don't like too much change? Ginger said she likes to start her computer and see her wallpaper without all the icons right up front in her face. I think it's very functional and has a layout that saves me time(I don't care about wallpaper) what do you think? If you haven't seen the netbook remix click here for a short gif video.

amd vs. INTEL vs. microsoft vs. LINUX

I've been a GNU/LINUX fan for over a decade now! I've had some struggles (switching back to windows) earlier in the decade and becoming loyal (LINUX only on my home computers) later (2007) in the decade.
I can say the same for AMD and INTEL because AMD has had a better price/performance ratio.
Now we enter 2009 with a change and I'm changing my story on INTEL and it's all because of moblin2 which Intel is has fostered. Intel has customized linux to it's atom cpu and it's not only booting in seconds it's great. AMD this is your wake up call! I also like the fact that INTC(Intel) is investing $100,000,000 in development that involves Linux.
